…the creators of the stories collected in Yuri Monogatari have evidently invested themselves in their work. Consequently, the material is convincing in a way that yuri that titters about girls holding hands and kissing is not.

Content-wise, [Your Hair] is very sad, as it is about how two people in a relationship are growing into strangers; the way this topic is explored is great in my eyes.

Comics Worth Reading

I liked the story Your Hair by Niki Smith. It’s a very poignant tale of someone realizing the person they love is slipping away..

“Your Hair” is a story I’m still very proud of, writing-wise, but by now it’s close to two years old, and I can certainly see where the art needed improvement! This story was the last one I drew the lines mentioned in a number of the above reviews… good to know that decision was well-made!

CIA had an awards ceremony last Friday, and I came away with two scholarships to my name! A prize for “Excellence in Drawing”, and a school-wide writing prize, which my comic Crabapple Crush won. I’ve updated the group shows & awards page to reflect the additions.

I’m currently working hard on developing pitches and series proposals. The characters on the right are from a submission currently called Highwater.
